ABOUT THE PROJECT:

There is hardly a soul on planet Earth that has been alive for roughly ten years or more that has never heard of “Star Wars“.  The Star Wars franchise is one of the most beloved, most admired, down-right near idolized fictional stories that has ever graced a movie screen.  For some, it is religion. And for others, it’s just a great time at the movies. For me, it’s a little bit of everything in between — a balance.

That’s probably why I identify myself with the notion of the “grey” Jedi — and before you tell me that Lucas’ Star Wars makes no room for a grey Jedi, I know.  I call myself that because in my world, a grey Jedi is a Force-user that attains balance in all things. They use the Force as it is, not prohibiting themselves from any corners of its power, nor succumbing to the corruption of the dark.

As the CEO and President of a video game company, I am a woman that ultimately wields a lot of power. I am strong, independent, and confident. And most of those qualities came from lessons steeped in the stories created by George Lucas, and not just Star Wars either.  Indiana Jones had a huge influence on me.  Enough to send me on a journey through ancient worlds;  I became an Egyptologist.  These movies mean an awful lot to me. And I am not alone.

I have been involved in the community of Star Wars fans for many years. And there are so many exceptional content creators that call this franchise “home”.  But there are FEW that are female-led as most of the channels out there are led by men.  And I feel I want to add to the community by elevating the female voice much more prominently into the conversation following those few that have already paved the way.  The themes and tropes of Star Wars are not just for men, they apply to everybody.  And by expanding the footprint of the female point of view, we can bring the lessons to wider audiences. That’s what we want to do here.

Won’t you come join us?

“You have to find something that you love enough to be able to take risks, jump over hurdles and break through the brick walls that are always going to be placed in front of you. If you don’t have that kind of feeling for what it is you are doing, you’ll stop at the first giant hurdle.”

– George Lucas
